At Associació Solidària Elimu Àfrica we treat your personal data with respect and only for what we need. Here we explain what data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what your rights are.

What data we collect
When you make a donation we collect your name and surnames (or company name), your email address and, if you want the tax deduction or your donations exceed the legal limit for anonymous donations, your tax ID and province. We also keep the amount, date, campaign and payment method of each donation. If you donate by direct debit, we also keep the account holder, the IBAN and the date of the direct debit mandate.
When you write to us by email, we process the data you send us so that we can reply.
We do not collect your card details: card and PayPal payments are made on the secure pages of these providers.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- Managing your donations, sending you receipts and, where applicable, collecting direct debits. The legal basis is your request to make a donation.
- Meeting our tax obligations: issuing the yearly donation certificate and reporting donations to the Spanish Tax Agency in form 182, as required by Law 49/2002. The legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
- Replying to your messages. The legal basis is your consent when you write to us.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
- Stripe and PayPal, which process online payments and receive your email address and the payment details.
- Our bank, to collect direct debits.
- The Spanish Tax Agency, to which we report donations with a tax ID in form 182.
- Our web hosting and email provider, which stores the data on our behalf.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case they do so with the safeguards provided for in the General Data Protection Regulation, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep donation data for five years after the end of the tax year, the period during which the Tax Agency can review it. After that you can ask us to erase it. We keep the messages you send us only for as long as we need to deal with them.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to the processing, by writing to info@solidariaelimuafrica.org. You can also cancel your regular donation at any time with the link in your receipts.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Cookies
This website only uses technical cookies: the one that remembers the language you have chosen and the ones the administration area needs when someone logs in. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we change the way we process data, we will update this page.
